End of the World??

Hi There!  It’s good to see that New Zealand is still on the map and that there are no reported sitings of people being raptured and others falling into large crevices in the Earth ofr being crushed by toppling buildings. I totally believe that those things are likely to happen someday when Christ does return to Earth but only God himself is the one who knows when that time will be.  You think that people would learn not to follow these wackos who predict the end time, especially when they start picking the day and hour it commences. This guy’s organization basically “bilked ” people out of over a hundred million dollars. P.T. Barnum was so correct when he said “There’s a sucker born every minute”. Unfortunately people who are not well-versed or grounded in their beliefs leave themselves open to these scam artists. I think people have an innate nature to search and long for the truth and reason for their existence. What is life about and why are we here?  What is our purpose? Is there even a purpose or does our death mark the end of our existence? The answers are so obvious that I truly feel sorry for those who waste their lives searching for the answers.  Maybe it is a natural, healthy process, to question things and seek answers but there comes a time when you have to mature and start identifying the truth. A time when common sense should kick in and you recognize a nutball from someone who is on the right track. I certainly don’t pretend to have all the answers and I have my own questions about what the Church teaches and why, but I have an inner peace that comforts me because I know in my deepest of hearts that Jesus Christ makes sense in every way. I’m in no way a theologian or apologist but I think I have enough common sense to tell me when something just makes sense. I don’t wish any ill-will toward other religions and I hope that God will see the redeeming value in every sole on Earth. Sadly that is not the way it will be. There are those who will deny God up until the end and of course it will be too late for them (at least the way I understand it). I’ tend to ramble, sorry. Suffice to say that we should be living our lives like everyday will be our last on Earth. I know I fail to do that like most people.  Maybe this apocalyptic prediction, if not embraced by people, will at least inspire some to start examining their lives and try to renew their relationship with God. Not a bad thing to do because who knows when the last day will be?

First off! Hope you are having a blessed Holy week. Tonight I will be singing at our Living Stations of The Cross presentation at St. Stephen the Martyr Church in Renton at 8:00 pm. It is a wonderful recreation of the Passion of Christ , Stations of the Cross, put on by our teens. It is one of the most moving events of our Church calender year and is a wonderful event for the entire family to attend. It will get you in the right mindset for the upcoming Easter weekend. If you plan on attending please get there early as the church is always packed for this event.

My last update was back on 4-7-11 and since that time Stefano Langone went from being in the top 9 on American Idol to being eliminated last night from the 7th position. WOWOW! What a run he had. The kid is a scrapper! Not only did he come back from a horrific accident in which he came close to losing his life, but he was almost eliminated at position #13 but came back in the wild card round with an amazing performance and made it to #7. No need to feel sorry for this young man. He has some incredible opportunities ahead of him in the entertainment industry. We will undoubtedly see a lot more of him in the future. His father Ernie as you probably know by now, is one of my closest friends and has been for quite some time. I wrote about him in my bio section almost 6 years ago when I first started this website. He is an immensely talented man  as well and has had a huge influence on Stefano’s success. I won’t be surprised if this snowballs and we start hearing big things coming from ernie as well. He is not only an extremely talented vocalist/instrumentalist, but a song writer/composer too. I wish the whole Langone family only the best and may the blessings continue to flow on them.  I have been blessed just to have known them all these years!

Well I have been busy and playing some new venues around the South Sound Area.  Here is a run-down of the upcoming week:

Sunday – a Easter Sunday brunch at the “2 Seven 2” restaurant/bar/grill in Covington from 10 am  until 1 pm.

Wednesday – at Jay Berry’s in the Renton Highlands 7-10 pm

Friday Night – Pizzeria Pulcinella’s in South Seattle 9-11 PM

Saturday Night – the 909 Coffee Wine Bistro in Burien

and MOST IMPORTANT of all Sunday Mass at 5:30 pm at St. Stephen the Martyr Church in Renton. Hope o see you at one of these events, especially the Holy Mass!

For those of you who have not made it down to Pizzeria Pulcinella’s I will be playing there every Friday night until I find out otherwise. Please come and check this place out. It is just a super cozy little place with the most amazing pizza you have ever eaten. Friendly staff and owners will make sure you enjoy yourself. take a look at the link below and see for yourself.

I am not sure what my schedule will be for playing at the Uncorked Wine Bar will be as it is possibly trading hands. The new owner/s may want to continue employing me on alternating Saturday nights and I will definitely let you know if I am. I hope it continues because it is a really, really, cool place to play.  Whether or not I am performing there I urge you to make the trip up to Snoqualmie Ridge and enjoy the great food and atmosphere of this wonderful restaurant.
